Shredder residues are often considered a cost-intensive by-product – expensive to dispose of and demanding to process. At the same time, they contain significant, yet largely untapped value potential. The key question is therefore not if, but how these material streams can be processed efficiently.
SICON has been engaged in the processing of shredder residues for more than 27 years. What began early on is more relevant today than ever: the circular economy is becoming the central framework of industrial value creation. Shredder plants that focus solely on the approximately 70% ferrous fraction and neglect other non-metallic fractions will not remain competitive in the long term.
